When Was The Passover Lamb Put To Death?
When Was The Date Of The Last Supper Of Our Lord Christ
Written By: Minister Charles Ford Walker (Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith)
Date Written: March 2nd, 1961 (Because of The Prophecy; No Revisions Are Ever Anticipated To This Epistle)
Greetings to the saints of the Most High God in the name of Jesus Christ our soon coming King of kings and Lord of lords. May God's mercy and love and more-ever His comfort be upon each of you and the church; these ten days after the falling asleep of our most beloved Bishop and Apostle. I too, share the grief and loss that each of you are feeling and do long for the immediate time when we all can accept this as his (Bishop) moving on up; accepting the call from God, according to His eternal purpose. A time to rest in the bosom of Abraham for a little while and then the receiving of his crown as well as us at His glorious coming. As most of you know by now that it was Bishop Johnson who blessed me and my ministry just 3 days before his falling asleep; during Sunday services in Miami, Florida. His spirit abides with me and leads me to continue the publication of the Whole Truth just as he would be doing, provide he were still with us. Eventhough I was not chosen as your new leader and Bishop, it will not prevent me from continuing in the tradition of our Late Bishop, that is: the publishing of the truth of God for your understanding, in epistle format. I will tell you this by the authority of Jesus Christ that those who were responsible for selecting Brother Shelton to head our organization, have made a grave mistake that will live in infamy, leaving the organization in ruins in the years to come. No individual with the nature of Brother Shelton (and all of you know what I mean) can effectively lead the Church of God nor head the organization founded by a great man; Bishop S.C. Johnson. This great organization, under the leadership of Brother Shelton is headed for total and complete destruction and the Philadelphia Church is sure to become nothing other than a synagogue of Satan. Go now, and write this in a book; true words which shall be revealed in our time. Thanks be to God and glory to His name of Jesus; I see the truth and am free to declare it to those who will believe. Praise God!
Now already there is misinformation coming from the mouth of our new leader concerning this Pagan Day called Easter, which we should never have anything to do with. We should truly observe the Passover Seder in the fashion that relates to our Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ and not according to Jewish times and dates as their observation was a shadow of the real thing which was to come, the Christ. And Christ being the perfect and real thing to come could never do and observe in an imperfect manner like the Jews, the natural Israel of God. it is obvious that our leaders in all of the churches including the false ones are mistaken concerning the days surrounding Passover and time of the Lord's Last Supper. Continuing, after the tradition of our fallen leader, Brother Charles is going to give you the truth on this subject, so that you will always know it and be free according to the righteousness found in Jesus Christ and not according to the handwriting of ordinances that were against us and contrary to us; that is the spiritual nature of us who are to be born again.
Now in order to have understanding on this subject, first we must understand the meaning of all the Passover festivities and their days of preparation, beginning with the 10th day of Nisan and ending about 12 days later. The reader must realize that the week long festivities of Passover were not just about the event of Passover; but were a combination of 3 separate and distinct Holy Days and are identified as Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread and The Feast of Firstfruits. Now these three events were established and setforth under the law; the shadow of things to come; and depicted and symbolized that which was the real thing which was to come, Jesus Christ; His death; His Burial and His resurrection. With Passover foretelling of His death on the 14th, day of Nisan; with The Feast of Unleavened Bread foretelling His burial in sinless state on the 15th day of Nisan, evening and with The Feasts of Firstfruits foretelling His resurrection on the 17th day of Nisan. Just as the time between Passover and Feasts of Firstfruits are three days and nights; so was the body of Jesus Christ in the heart of the earth three days and nights. What the shadow foretold was the same in time from when Christ was put to death until he rose from the dead. Both had to happen on the same dates with no variation which meant that in order for Jesus to come and fulfill that which was written concerning Him in the law (Read Luke 24:44-46), He had to observe and die, be buried and resurrect Himself on the dates given by our Lord God under the law. All thing concerning Christ our Lord were given (written) in the Law and in the Psalms and in the Prophets and were fulfilled likewise by the coming of Jesus Christ and all that He did to setforth the Kingdom of God, including His death, burial, and resurrection.
With help from the scriptures let us at this time determine When Was The Passover Lamb Put to Death? and what was the day of the month of Nisan and what was the time of day when all of the blood had to be given up by the Passover Lamb. Firstly; the date of all Jewish holidays does not and cannot change from year to year nor do they change in the Diaspora; only a day is added to protect the accuracy of the lunar month. Holidays are celebrated on the same day of the Jewish calendar every year, but the Jewish year is not the same length as a solar year on the Gregorian calendar used by most of the western world, so the date shifts on the Gregorian calendar.
Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread are held in immediate sequence. These are distinctly different holy days and doing this celebration are falling on different days; however, due to their closeness they are usually treated as one festival by most unlearned observers who are willing to accept the teachings of unlearned teachers and ministers. . (The scriptures seem to teach that these are two names for the same festival. See Exodus 13:3-8.) And because of the misunderstanding of this scripture many people just get it all wrong and have a difficult time accepting that which is the truth concerning this matter.
Observe; in the three spring feasts as they were carried out by the Jews; we see the redemption story of our Savior, Jesus Christ, as it emerged into history nearly two millennia ago. All believers should understand, our Lord Jesus personally fulfilled all three of these spring feasts. If an individual would truly search the scriptures, they would see for themselves that these feasts were accurately fulfilled down to the minutest detail and on the very day of the lunar calendar which the three springtime feasts were due under Old Testament instructions. Now as I have just stated, upon exploring the scriptures, in the case of the Passover we shall discover that our Savior truly did fulfill these feast in the new covenant on the very day and at the very hour that the Passover lambs were being slaughtered. Also observe; that after the temple was built in Jerusalem the Paschal Lambs would be brought up from Bethlehem, where all the Paschal Lambs were raised by dedicated Paschal Shepherds. This is why our Lord Jesus Christ had to be born in the city of Bethlehem in a manger wrapped in swaddling cloths because He was the Perfect Paschal Lamb and just as the shadow which was to bring us to Him; He too being the real thing had to be born where all the other Paschal Lambs were born. ( an added bit of revelation)
Now as it is set forth and established in the scriptures: On the 14th day of Nisan, the blood of the sacrifice lamb is shed. This blood on the door brings salvation even as the death angel passes overhead. It is the eve of the exodus from the bondage of Egypt. It is the beginning of a new day for the people of God; evenso, for all who believed there was salvation in the blood of the lamb and life continued in all who was not ashamed to believe. Now get this: On the 14th day of Nisan in 32 A.D. Jesus Christ , the ultimate and true and perfect Sacrifice Lamb, is crucified. On this Passover His blood is offered up to God to be sprinkled in the Holiest of Holiest place; bringing us salvation from the bondage of sin and death. Giving us also a new beginning and a way to serve God in spirit and in truth.
Read; Exodus 12:1-14; 1. And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, 2. This month [shall be] unto you the beginning of months: it [shall be] the first month of the year to you. 3. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth [day] of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of [their] fathers, a lamb for an house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take [it] according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.5. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take [it] out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6. And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
Now read: Matthew 27:45-46; Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Read also v.50; Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghostghost. We see our Lord being put to death, as the perfect sacrifice on the 14th day of Nisan just like the sacrificial lamb was put to death in the Old Testament; on the 14th day of Nisan. This had to be or else His coming and putting to death could not have fullfilled the law. and as His death had be accomplished at the right time so did His burial; John 19:42; There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation [day]; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. Here we see Jesus Christ being laid in the sepulcher in the evening time (eve) of the 15th. day of Nisan; the day that followed the day of preparation. Read Matthew 27:62; Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
An important observation; Immediately after the Passover the Feast of Unleavened Bread began at sunset. All leaven, a type of sin, was removed from the houses and the unleavened bread was eaten throughout the days of the feast Now as confirmed in the holy scriptures and previously stated: As the 15th day of Nisan began at sunset after Passover Jesus Christ our Lord was buried. He was the sinless unleavened 'Bread of Heaven' offered as the perfect sacrifice. Thus He fulfilled the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Read Lev. 23:6 to confirm this date and its important: And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread." Leaven in the scriptures as we all know, symbolizes sin. To establish a salvation perfect enough to return people to God; Jesus was the unleavened sinless Bread of Heaven. His life was one of sinless perfection. And His body was offered as the perfect and acceptable sacrifice for all sin. Then with the children of Israel and now; The Feast of Unleavened Bread is also a calling for all of God's people to walk with their Savior in a walk of holiness, maintaining a life without sin. Read I Cor. 5:7-8; Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth. Whereas, all of the Israel of God should know and observe and should never forget that: Jesus was the sinless sacrifice offered for our redemption. He was buried on the eve of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the 15th of Nisan, according to the scriptures; And thus He fulfilled the feast. Praise God and Glory to His Name! Let everything with the breath of life give praise to our Lord Jesus Christ; Amen!
Now, according to the scriptures and established by God Holy Word: on the 17th day of Nisan the firstfruits of the barley harvest was gathered by Israel and waived (lifted up) before the Lord God in celebration. And do you not know that: On the 17th day of Nisan in 32 A.D. Jesus Christ rises up from the grave. He is the firstfruits from the dead. In that very day He fulfilled the feast. Therefore; and without controversy; The Feast of Firstfruits was fulfilled by Jesus in His resurrection. He was the "firstfruits from the dead". Read 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21. For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. 22. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Three days and nights after His crucifixion and at the end of the 17th day of Nisan and at the beginning of the night of the next day, Jesus rose again from the grave. That day; the 17th of Nisan, was The Feast of Firstfruits. The risen Jesus Christ was seen the next morning, just before His assent into Heaven to perform His duties as our High Priest, by Mary near the garden tomb. (Read John 20:10-18) Later He walked through the wall to visit with the disciples in a closed room at the designated place He had commanded they wait for His return from the land of the dead and then from heaven. Thomas felt the wound in His side and confirmed that He was not a ghost. He was real. He had a spiritual body that was solidly manifest in this world. He could be seen and touched and felt the same as a material body. Read John 20:24-29. Now that we have an understanding of how those things which were a shadow of things to come were truly just that; a shadow. The real sacrifice; the death; the atonement by the perfect blood and the redemption could have never be fullfilled until Jesus Christ had come in the likeness of sinful flesh. And thus it behooved Christ to suffer and be put to death and to rise again the third day and that remission and forgiveness of sin should be preach in his holy name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem. All of this had to be in the same time frame as the three feast which His death; His burial; and His resurrection fullfilled. His death on the 14 day of Nisan; His burial on the eve of the 15th day of Nisan; and His resurrection at the end of the 17th day of Nisan.
Now, go to and read Matthew 12:40; For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Here we see that Jesus Christ was dead from the 9th hour of the 14th day of Nisan and then was in the heart of the earth until the very end of the 17th day of Nisan. And this brings us to the error of our leaders of today in that this is the area that is confusing and misunderstood; causing it to be delivered wrong to the saints of God; and this brings us to the final question in this epistle. If Jesus Christ was dead and/or in the heart of the earth during this time; then which night did He observe and keep the Passover Seder? Yes! the question is: when did Jesus Christ have His last supper and give his body and blood to those who were with Him and were destined to among those first redeemed.
When Was The Date Of The Last Supper Of Our Lord Christ
NOTE: All holidays begin at sundown on the evening before the date given. This is not just an observation, but is a fact established by God when the 24 hour time line was given to the inhabitants of the earth. Read Genesis 1:5; And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. When we observe things according to the law dispensation we must not forget that this is the way time is accounted for according to the calendar given from God. For when we apply what man has given us we are sure to make a mistake in all our assumptions. Concerning those things that are of God; we must use those things which have been given us by God to reach determinations and to come to conclusions. Therefore let us observe the facts concerning the Lord's Last Supper and come to the truth supported by the holy scriptures. We know for a fact that it took place at night. We also know for a fact that it was that same night when He was betrayed by Judas. We know for a fact that the next day following the Night of betrayal, was the day of Preparation and on the day of preparation was the sacrificial lamb put to death; this day being the 14th day of Nisan. Therefore it is just a plain fact that Jesus Christ did without controversy keep the Passover on the evening of the 14th of Nisan. Keep in mind that the evening and night comes before the morning and the day. I had to be on that night or else it could never be; because after that night; as He explained to them (Apostles) that He is to go the Father and they would see Him no more. Meaning that after that night's events had run their course He would forever afterwards possess a bloodless body that could never again be broken. His blood and flesh were required of Him to offer Himself for the sin of the world. And the night that He would command His last seder had to be on a night that He was still in possession of both the blood and the flesh. The last night that He would be both human and divine was the evening of the 14th of Nisan; the Night before the Day of Preparation. Let us give God some praise for in His knowledge we are made wise.
Now, to avoid the error of today's leadership. whom God has given no revelation concerning this issue; your observation of the Lord's Supper, for this year (1961) should be on this wise: The 14th day of Nisan, 5721 will fall on Friday March 31st, 1961. Therefore your keeping of the Lord's Passover Seder should be kept on the evening of the 14th of Nisan which will fall on Thursday night March 30th, 1961, after 6:00 PM. You see: it is the Lord's Passover that you should keep and not the Passover commanded of Moses; as that Passover was only a shadow of the real thing to come; the Lord's Passover according to all the righteousness found in Jesus Christ.
May the Lord God, Jesus Christ the righteous One, keep you and all that are yours and that you will continue to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints; and when he appears, may each of you be one of the number who will help to crown Him Lord of lords and King of kings. God bless the saints of the Most High God.
