The basis and faith of Apostolic Ministries of America, "A Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith" was started on the day of Pentecost at Jerusalem as it was preached by Peter and the rest of the apostles. In 1919, Bishop Sherrod C. Johnson brought back the fullness of the gospel as it was revealed to him by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In accordance with I Corinthians 14:40, "Let all things be done decently and in order, Apostolic ministries of America, "A Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith" believes that this principle must be followed for the church government to be lawful in the sight of God and holy men.
Laboring for approximately forty-two (42) years, Bishop Sherrod C. Johnson preached the word of God. Before his passing on February 22, 1961. It was on this last trip that Bishop Johnson would make for the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ that Elder Charles Ford Walker, then a very young minister, would receive his last blessing from Bishop Johnson. Minister Walker, affectionately known to everyone as "Brother Charles" was one of the last and perhaps the very last Minister of the Gospel to be blessed by the Late Apostle, Bishop S.C. Johnson before being called to his rest by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Now, in these last and evil days of man's existence upon this earth, God is moving upon the Apostolic Ministers around the world to preach the word of god; baptize in the name of Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus or Lord (Jesus); Work many wonders; and show many signs to enable those, that are preordained by God to receive salvation, to make that spiritual transformation and grasp and hold on to that true Vine of Grace, to the saving of their souls.
It is within this context of our Lord God doing mighty works and wonders through his ministers, in these last days that Elder Charles Ford Walker has received from God a new calling and a new anointing to make known unto the Saints of God and to the Church, through knowledge and revelation the manifold wisdom of God.
Therefore, Elder Walker as General Overseer of Apostolic Ministries of America, Inc., is charged before God to: Establish organizational headquarters in Central Florida, USA; Organize and build a Church and edifice in which all people can come to praise the Lord God of heaven and earth and to reaffirm the 2000 years old Apostolic Doctrine as the way in which mankind must obtain and maintain salvation; Train and Ordain new ministers who can provide true Apostolic Services to the Communities of our Country; And to create the necessary community out-reach programs for the elder and the young in the Apostolic Tradition, in which the family shall be the core program entity, and the Husband being the head of that family in responsibility and in all things stated in the Holy Scriptures.
To put it in simple terms, as Apostolic Pentecostals, we are saying that it is our desire and intent to practice our faith the same way the Apostles practiced theirs, and as it is laid out in the book of Acts. The two thousand year New Testament Church has not changed. What was true on the day of Pentecost is still true today. People are still full and are still being filled with the Holy Ghost as they were on the day of Pentecost in that upper room; And people are still being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ just as Peter commanded in Acts 2:38. "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him." Colossians 3:17.
As we firmly believe and hold to this fact that "a Church of our Lord Jesus Christ" was, is and will be here on earth for His Saints until His second coming. In as much as the Apostle Paul mandated that all things be done decently and in order, in regards to the Saints and the Church, we have made known to the elect of God, not only His doctrine, but also all of the rules, regulations, by-laws and ceremonial procedures that are necessary for the Church of the Lord Jesus to function. We have attempted to make the AMA Cyber Church complete and not lacking in anything which the person of God may need to identify the way and the truth and how to receive that Life.
This and this only is our purpose for establishing Apostolic Ministries of America, Inc, and it should never be viewed by any individual or religious organization as judgmental or supporting condemnation of other points of view and practices. That is God's job and He and His Saints will take care of that at the great white throne judgment. Also. we will in no way embrace any forum which supports debate of Gods Word, just for the sake of debating. The Ministry charged to AMA by our Lord Jesus Christ is this:
To make known the word of God to his elect and provide support according to the Apostle's Doctrine, to the Saints of God, through His Church, in these last and evil days. in which man will exist on this earth.
To provide spiritually based programs for the assisting of the senior and young citizens of the world, that they to may be a part of God's elect, giving understanding to the words of Jesus Christ; "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first" Matthew 19:30. For it is through the old and the young that god will speak to His Church in the last days, and it will be with dreams and visions; (see Joel 2:28-32) and "Where there is no vision, the people perish" Proverbs 29:18.
For God has truly lifted the veil and we can truly see His word as it is and clearly understand that in these last days there is no need to debate the issue, but to preach and teach it to the nations of the world. Time is at hand and the word of God makes it plainthat there is only one slavation plan; "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed", Galatians 1:6-9.
While it is our desire for the whole religious world to come together on one accord, we also by the word of God realize that this will never happen. Apostolic Ministries of America, Inc. does hereby extend to any and all of the Apostolic Faith Independent Churches to come and fellowship with us and exhibit their strength in God, through unity. In an attempt to better describe who we are let me close by reminding the readers of 1 Peter 2:9-12. "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation".
